Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, mathematics, finance or related field.
• 12+ years of mainframe experience with proficiency in performance management for large z/OS environments.
• Proven experience in mainframe performance monitoring, observability, and data analysis.
• Experience resolving performance issues in real-time via WLM/batch initiators.
• Understanding of PR/SM, JCL, and DB2 is preferred.
• Proficiency in REXX and Python; advanced Excel and PowerPoint for data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time z/OS system health across CPU, memory, DASD, and WLM workloads.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and issues.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve resource anomalies in production systems.
• Develop performance tuning strategies by adjusting service definitions and workload placement.
• Support capacity planning with workload forecasting and modeling.
• Assist in cost modeling, vendor reporting, and infrastructure sizing.
• Collect and analyze data to generate reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Collaborate with operations, development, and infrastructure teams; participate in on-call rotations.
