Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Integration Engineer 4 - Mainframe Engineer in Riverwoods, IL to maintain and enhance a mixed batch and online mainframe environment with high availability and resiliency. You will work across core mainframe tech stacks, participate in DR planning, encryption, file transfers, and governance, while documenting designs and configurations.

You will collaborate in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence, contribute to payment systems security, and mentor junior staff

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
4+ years designing and maintaining cross-platform or cloud integrations.
3+ years automating system configuration or data workflows.
3+ years with Sysplex complexes.
3+ years with COBOL, CICS, VSAM, JCL, DB2 or Mainframe RESTful API technologies.
3+ years with mainframe tools and utilities (IBM File Manager, IBM Z Workload Scheduler, batch schedulers, IBM Batch Utilities, ISPF, or TSO).

Responsibilities

Maintain and support a mixed batch and online mainframe infrastructure environment, ensuring high availability across Parallel Sysplex complexes.
Utilize mainframe monitoring suites (such as Omegamon) to track system performance and health.
Support disaster recovery technologies, including GDPS, to maintain system resiliency.
Implement and manage mainframe encryption technologies and solutions for data both at rest and in flight.
Manage file transfer protocols including SFTP, FTPS, and NDM (Connect Direct).
Develop comprehensive documentation for system designs, processes, and configurations.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards to maintain security of payment systems.
Collaborate in an Agile project environment using Jira.
