Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for Mainframe Communications Systems Software. This hybrid role requires 4 onsite days per week at Jersey City, NJ, Lake Mary, FL, Pittsburgh, PA, or Nashville, TN, with focus on modernization, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will oversee z/OS environments, advise on security, and lead teams through complex lifecycle projects, delivering value to executives and clients.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mainframe infrastructure leadership with z/OS/MVS background.
• Experience with VTAM, TCP/IP, IBM Connect:Direct, CA tools.
• Security exposure: RACF/ACF2/Top Secret and SMP/E basics.
• Strong SDLC and source code management experience.
• 10+ years in IT; financial services experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifecycle delivery for mainframe hardware/software.
• Administer multiple z/OS systems and core technologies (JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS).
• Modernize and automate legacy services, reduce risk.
• Collaborate across data center, production, and apps teams.
• Support strategy, lifecycle ownership, and modernization initiatives.
• Communicate outcomes to executives and stakeholders.
