Job summary

Staffing Spot, Inc. seeks an experienced Mainframe Technical Specialist to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise mainframe applications on IBM z/OS.

You will work with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and related technologies, delivering robust solutions and supporting production environments. You will analyze requirements, develop code, perform debugging and testing, and participate in deployments, incidents, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Strong IBM z/OS mainframe experience.
• Hands-on COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM work on IBM mainframes.
• Understanding of mainframe batch and online processing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications on IBM z/OS platforms.
• Develop and support applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and related technologies.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform development, debugging, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Maintain JCL procedures, batch jobs, and scheduling processes.
• Work with DB2 databases and SQL.
• Support CICS online transactions and troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards.
• Participate in upgrades, migrations, and releases.
• Prepare technical docs and procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, DBAs, and analysts.
• Participate in on-call and production support.
