Job summary

Calance seeks a Mainframe Developer for a 12-month onsite contract in Lincoln, NE. The role involves Cobol/CICS development, debugging and SDLC support within an Agile environment.

Requirements include 5 years COBOL/CICS experience, JCL, IBM mainframe (z/OS), SQL/DB2, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. Local candidates only; on-site interviews required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of RECENT experience coding programs in COBOL (with in the last year).
• Technical experience developing in COBOL AND CICS (required), JCL, IBM mainframe (z/OS), TSO.
• Experience with all aspects of the SDLC and workflows, using Visual Studio for source control, SQL, DB2, QMF and XPEDITER.

• Troubleshoot problems and provide support on existing products and services.
• Work as part of a software development team in the implementation of projects.
• Perform daily tasks of analysis, programming and testing as needed.

Pay Rate:$48.50 (W2 only) or $54.00 (INCORPORATED), (Not accepting 1099 or C2C)

HOURS

MON-FRI 8am-5pm / all work will be ONSITE (No remote work offered)

Seeking dedicated Mainframe Developer to join our team of performance driven professionals in helping to build the best of applications in support of business units. We utilizes Agile development methodology.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

MUST BE ABLE TO INTERVIEW ONSITE

• Experience with all aspects of the SDLC and workflows, using Visual Studio for source control, SQL (Structured Query Language), DB2, QMF and XPEDITER
• Experience with SQL utilizing DB2 accessing by programs, writing queries in QMF and creating tables is required.
• Experience with JCL and job scheduling is required.
• Experience in software development utilizing Agile with SCRUM is desired but not required.
• Perform front-end, middle-tier and back-end development.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and weighing relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
• Extremely detailed oriented and able to follow Department standards, methodologies, principles and processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or hold a Technical Degree in Computer Science

DESIRED/Preferred Skills

• Experience developing in MicroFocus Cobol using App Master Builder and Native COBOL will be given high preference.
• Experience with application development in highway inventory systems.
• Experience with SQL Server 2012 and higher.
• Experience with designing and building secure ASP.NET applications would give candidate ability to program in C# as well as COBOL.
• Experience with Web/Windows Services.
• Experience with SSRS reports.
• 2 years of experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience with Mainframe Migration (re-hosting or re-platform).
