Ingram Content Group in LaVergne, TN is seeking a Senior Software Developer - COBOL to deliver enterprise-grade mainframe solutions. You will work on an order processing application running on MVS using DB2, with option to use TSO/ISPF or VS Code and AI-enabled tools.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years COBOL and DB2 experience, plus 6+ years overall development experience, and will contribute across the full development lifecycle in a hybrid setup with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 6+ years of development experience as an application engineer/senior programmer analyst.
• 5+ years of mainframe COBOL and/or Mainframe/iSeries development experience.
• 5+ years of relational database experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops, tests, and implements changes to existing mainframe COBOL programs/applications including integration with MQ and API middleware.
• Works closely with client resources to assist in solution design and implementation.
• Supports user/customer community to capture system requirements.
• Works with multiple systems (i.e. Order Processing, Warehouse Processing, Billing, Sales, Credit Processing).
• Manages projects that require work from others.
• Communicates project status and issues.
• Investigates new technologies and new techniques.
• Develops and modifies internal facing software applications.
• Provides application development life cycle support including specifications, prototypes, development, quality assurance, deployment and support.
• Reviews and evaluates application workflow and user experience.
• Provides adequate tests to ensure program meets specified requirements.Coordinates with users and product owners to gather requirements.
