Job summary

E-Logic, Inc. is seeking an IT Software Developer III to support the IRS AIMS Digitalization program in a UNISYS mainframe environment. The role centers on development, modernization, and maintenance of mission-critical IRS applications with strong COBOL expertise.

The candidate will design and modify COBOL applications, gather requirements from IRS stakeholders, and develop technical docs and test artifacts. Experience with CMPlus and batch processing is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with UNISYS COBOL, ECL, mainframe development, and batch processing.
• Experience with CMPlus, IPF, DMS, FILECRACKER, DOCIT.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies; able to create technical docs and test plans.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; capable of independent and collaborative work.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, test, and maintain AIMS COBOL applications and components.
• Perform programming and coding changes for modernization and updates.
• Gather and analyze requirements from IRS stakeholders and business units.
• Develop Functional Specification Plans, technical docs, and testing artifacts.
• Execute code reviews, debugging, and defect resolution activities.
• Support database updates, batch processing changes, and system integration tasks.
• Develop and execute Unit, ISAT, Regression, and other test plans.
• Support release prep and deployment coordination using CMPlus.
• Participate in production support, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
• Support O&M tasks and ongoing system enhancements; collaborate with project teams.
