Experis is seeking a Sr. Mainframe Assembler Developer to join the team. Based in Addison, TX or Charlotte, NC, this hybrid role requires 3 days onsite. The position is a 12+ month contract with a high chance of extension or conversion.

You will support mission-critical legacy applications, focusing on IBM z/OS assembler, JCL, and batch processing in a regulated financial environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for upgrades and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IBM Mainframe development and production support.
• Deep expertise in IBM HLASM and JCL.
• Experience with Connect:Direct, ISPW, CA7 scheduling, and TSO/ISPF.
• Proven ability to support high-volume financial systems in high-availability environments.
• Strong understanding of mainframe datasets, VSAM, and utilities, plus incident management.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance high-volume, high-availability mainframe applications written in IBM z/OS assembler language.
• Analyze complex assembler codebases to diagnose and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Maintain and troubleshoot JCL, GDGs, and batch processing environments to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, platform changes, and process improvements.
• Support check/image item processing and payment platforms within a regulated financial environment.
