Job summary
PeraWatt Energy in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Senior Magnetics Engineer, Power Electronics to lead the full process of turning our soft magnetic materials into high-performance electronic components. You will design inductors and transformers, characterize their performance, and build testing/data infrastructure.
This hands-on, high-ownership role works closely with customers and applications engineers to validate designs and provide customer-ready data that accelerates adoption in data centers,
Qualifications
- 4+ years designing and characterizing magnetic components for high-frequency power electronics.
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and magnetic materials properties.
- Experience with core selection, winding design, and loss characterization.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis for magnetics modeling (Ansys or Comsol).
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and characterize inductors and transformers using soft magnetic materials.
- Build testing and validation infrastructure to benchmark components against incumbents.
- Collaborate with customers and applications engineers to integrate components into power converters.
