Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in Yankton, SD, seeks a Senior Design Engineer focused on magnetics design, transformers, inductors, and coils used in aerospace, industrial, and automotive applications. You will work with customers to define magnetics designs, supervise sample builds, and coordinate with production to ensure quality, reliability, and cost targets. Must be a US person per ITAR.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years progressive experience as a design engineer in magnetics and/or Switch mode power supply design.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Must be a US person due to ITAR product restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to complete magnetics design for target applications.
• Independently performs complex engineering work under special circumstances where necessary to prevent jeopardy to the business.
• Directs Technicians or production personnel in sample builds and evaluation of materials and processes for new product designs.
• Maintain knowledge of competitive status and share pertinent information across the division.
• May travel to customers or other locations as needed.
