Job summary

NextDeavor in Ogden, UT is seeking a Machinist Technician to set up and operate conventional and CNC machining centers to produce precision parts meeting tight tolerances. You will work onsite with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes and support lean initiatives; swing and weekend shift options are available.

Key tasks include setting up and running multiple machines, interpreting blueprints, performing SPC, mentoring juniors, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Five or more years of directly related machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Swiss lathes, grinders, manual machining, and mills.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate conventional and special‑purpose machines for complex production runs.
• Run multiple machines and perform simultaneous operations when required.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specs.
• Interface with engineering to resolve drawing issues and suggest changes.
• Develop manufacturing methods using standard machines, materials, and tooling.
• Make complex setups with multiple workpiece stations.
• Inspect finished parts with precision instruments and perform SPC.
• Troubleshoot problems and maintain calibration and cleanliness.
• Support lean initiatives and assist with workload priorities.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members.
