Job summary

Entegris in Decatur, AL is seeking a Machinist III to perform precision machining of graphite, silicon carbide, and related materials following blueprints and specs. The role requires operating 4th/5th axis mills, live tooling lathes, grinders, and other equipment, and creating CNC code.

You will collaborate with programmers, read drawings, and maintain safety and quality standards. Willingness to work multiple shifts and assist with maintenance is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Math and precision measurement skills; able to read machine drawings.
• Experience using a CMM is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of machining methods.
• Ability to make complex code adjustments within program.
• Experience using programming software is a plus.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Attention to safety and quality.
• Capable of complying with U.S. export control laws.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed blueprints and customer specifications.
• Operate hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and computers.
• Run 4th & 5th axis mills, live tooling lathes, grinders, bandsaws, and other equipment.
• Complete machining tasks within a customer job and adjust programs as needed.
• Collaborate with programmers on programs and fixtures for new parts.
• Create hand-typed CNC code for chip prevention and fixturing.
• Adhere to safety protocols and SOPs to ensure quality and on-time shipping.
• May perform maintenance and housekeeping duties.
