Job summary

Campbell Chain, part of The Hillman Group, seeks an experienced Machinist Maintenance Technician III to join our York, PA facility. You will lead complex machining projects, repair and rebuild critical components, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability and uptime.

You will operate manual and CNC machines, read blueprints, fabricate replacement parts, and mentor junior technicians while supporting preventive maintenance and safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years as machinist, toolmaker, industrial maintenance technician, or related manufacturing role.
• Strong experience operating manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, repair, and modify machine components, tooling, fixtures, and equipment parts.
• Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and CNC machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce precision components.
• Fabricate replacement parts when OEM components are unavailable or require modification.
• Restore worn equipment and rebuild assemblies to support production uptime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and assist with complex repairs.
• Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection tools.
• Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Lead complex machining and fabrication projects with minimal supervision.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment modifications.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and share technical expertise.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance efforts.
• Follow all safety, housekeeping, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
