Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a production machinist in Burnsville, MN for 2nd shift. The role involves manual milling and lathe work, interpreting blueprints and procedures, and maintaining high safety and quality standards on-site.

You will calibrate machinery, work with engineering to optimize production, and inspect finished parts using standard inspection tools. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of manual Mill/Lathe experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Production Machining of routine and custom products using manual mills and lathes.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures to perform set ups and production processes.
• Calibrate machines to perform operations within capability by positioning, aligning, securing work, and using appropriate tools.
• Use analytical skills to formulate machine adjustments and execute the machining process.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize production processes and develop solutions.
• Inspect and certify work with inspection equipment.
