Job summary

Simmonds Precision Products in Vermont is seeking a skilled machinist to plan and execute CNC and manual machining operations. You will interpret blueprints, set up machines, select tooling, and verify tolerances to produce quality parts.

The role requires strong GD&T knowledge, the ability to lead a team, and to maintain accurate quality records. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, competitive pay, and opportunities for growth. First shift, full-time, with over 40 hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Interprets blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.
• Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
• Performs machining setups and adjusts as required.
• Conducts inspections of work produced.
• Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Produces machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating a CNC or manual machine (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, and others).
• Directs and leads others as needed.
• Sets up machines, adjusts feeds, speeds, and depths to meet tolerances.
• Maintains SPC charts and quality documentation.
