Job summary

Flowserve is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to setup and operate DMG-Mori NT4300 equipment and to program at the machine to meet print specifications. The role requires machining of components to tight tolerances and precise measurement using micrometers, calipers and other tools.

You will maintain safety, complete paperwork, learn continually, and potentially train junior staff across multiple machines.

Qualifications

• Typically, greater than 10 years’ experience doing similar work.
• Working knowledge of DMG-Mori NT series machines.
• Understands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectation.
• Strong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometry.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancing.
• For CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programming.
• Knowledge of fixturing and safe / effective work holding.
• Firm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades.
• Understanding of cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cut, heat inputs and work hardening

Responsibilities

• Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipment.
• Ability to program at the machine for CNC equipment.
• Machining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerances.
• Parts measurement using tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment and drive improvements in the work center.
• Complete all paperwork associated with tasks performed.
• Keep up to date with required trainings.
• Work on a variety of parts and processes across multiple machines.
• Rely on experience and judgement to complete assignments.
• May train lower-level employees and check their work.
• May be designated as a manufacturing lead employee.
