Job summary

Trax International seeks a skilled Machinist IV to fabricate prototype and replacement parts at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ. You will program, set up, and run manual and CNC mills and lathes, read blueprints, and apply CAM software to optimize cutting paths.

You will work with design engineers and customers to understand requirements, ensure tight tolerances, and perform quality inspections while prioritizing safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in related field with 5 years machine shop experience or two years machinist technical school with 10 years experience or 12 years in a machine shop with CNC experience.
• Reading blueprints and interpreting complex multi-view drawings.
• Experience designing 3D parts using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Experience with CAM software to program CNC machines (MasterCam, CAMWorks).
• Knowledge of G-Code, GBR, STL, STEP files; ability to modify G-code for adjustments.
• Proficient in programming, setting up and operating manual and CNC mills, lathes, and plasma tables.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and ensuring tight tolerances.
• Heat treating alloys knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Machine and fabricate prototype and replacement parts to close tolerances.
• Interpret instructions, plan work, and model cutting paths using CNC/CAM software.
• Program, set up, and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, and plasma tables.
• Collaborate with design engineers and customers to understand requirements and propose solutions.
• Perform quality control inspections and maintain safety standards.
