Job summary

Linamar is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee Die Cast and Machining departments, ensuring high-quality aluminum castings and adherence to procedures. The role includes coordinating shift activities, coaching staff, and meeting production quotas.

You'll lead a team of Die Cast Leads, Die Cast Operators, Furnace Operators, and Machine Team Leads, drive safety and continuous improvement, and maintain accurate production reporting. Bachelor's degree and supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Computer literate to read, write, and reply to e-mail.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and standardized work.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Confident in presenting to groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift production and support group activities to produce high-quality aluminum die castings following established procedures and work instructions.
• Contribute to manufacturing goals in a highly participatory environment and may assume Manufacturing Manager responsibilities as required.
• Supervise production department employees, evaluate performance, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Directly supervise Die Cast and Machining Department employees on assigned shift.
• Perform supervisor duties per company policies and applicable laws.
• Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance and address issues.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly quotas as established by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Provide hands-on direction for production, machining, or support departments to resolve problems.
