The role

Infinite Reality is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our world builder team and help shape the future of AI-powered virtual environments. This is a remote position within the continental US, and you'll report directly to David Gordon, Director of Engineering. In this role, you'll develop and refine advanced algorithms, leveraging generative AI and large language models to autonomously generate immersive 3D worlds from vast datasets. Working closely with software engineers, data scientists, and technical artists, you'll integrate cutting-edge AI into our world-building pipeline, pushing the boundaries of interactive digital experiences.

What you'll do

• AI-Driven World-Building Systems: Develop systems utilizing LLMs to autonomously create 3D environments, handling assets like models, shaders, and particle systems.
• Scalable Asset Integration Pipelines: Collaborate with technical artists and engineers to build pipelines ensuring seamless integration of diverse 3D assets into the procedural generation process.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure world-building systems are scalable and performant, capable of handling large datasets and multiple interactions while maintaining high-quality environments.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with engineers, data scientists, technical artists, and designers to implement innovative solutions for dynamic virtual worlds, ensuring technical integration across teams.
• Innovation in Generative AI: Lead the adoption of emerging technologies in generative AI and procedural content creation, integrating the latest advancements into our platform.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Address complex technical challenges related to performance, AI systems, asset rendering, and procedural generation pipelines to ensure efficient world-building processes.

What you'll bring

• Educational Background: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience: 6+ years in machine learning, focusing on systems for procedural content generation and working with LLMs to create scalable virtual environments.
• 3D Graphics Expertise: Proficient in 3D graphics programming and procedural content generation, handling assets like models, textures, shaders, and particle systems.
• Technical Skills: Experience in both frontend (React, Three.js, WebGL) and backend (Node.js, MySQL) development, enabling seamless integration of AI-driven procedural generation into interactive 3D worlds.
• Optimization Skills: Ability to optimize complex systems for performance and scalability, ensuring AI-powered world-building systems perform seamlessly with large datasets.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams, mentoring, and leading by example to promote best practices in world-building, procedural generation, and AI integration.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to tackle complex technical challenges in 3D graphics, procedural content generation, or system performance.
• Adaptability: Commitment to continuous learning and integrating the latest developments in AI, machine learning, 3D graphics, and procedural generation into the team's work.

We’ll be extra pumped if you have

• Cloud-Based 3D Systems: Experience managing and deploying 3D assets at scale in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Procedural Content Generation: Advanced knowledge of procedural content generation for 3D assets and virtual environments.
• Game Engines and 3D Modeling Tools: Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal and 3D modeling tools such as Blender or Maya.
• Technical Art and Shader Programming: Expertise in technical art practices, including shader programming, material creation, and performance optimization for 3D content.
• WebAssembly and Performance Optimization: Experience with WebAssembly or similar technologies to optimize performance for web-based 3D applications.
• AI Integration for 3D Assets: Experience integrating LLMs or other AI-driven technologies into the content generation pipeline.
• Community Contributions: Active involvement in open-source projects, machine learning research, or 3D content generation communities.

Salary Range

$145,000 - $157,000 USD

Base pay will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, certifications, experience, market demands, and locations.
