What You'll Be Doing

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead AI Industrialization efforts at Verizon. You will provide technical leadership, collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams, and serve as a subject matter expert in AI fields including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Responsible AI, Generative AI, NLP, and Computer Vision.

1. Lead the transformation of data science prototypes into scalable solutions.
2. Design and implement ML algorithms and tools.
3. Consolidate and apply new concepts in AI, including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design.
4. Establish standards for datasets, data representation, and extend ML libraries.
5. Determine testing and experimentation processes for ML models.
6. Develop, deploy, and maintain ML system software.
7. Define strategies for ML/AI tools, aligning with business needs.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders to define governance, model inventory, and tracking processes.

What We're Looking For

You will stay abreast of industry advancements, define best practices, and help shape Verizon’s ML architecture. You should be capable of designing enterprise-scale solutions and aligning strategies at a leadership level.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Spark, Hive, SQL, Python, Scala, Kafka, and DevOps tools like Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
• Hands-on experience with model deployment, MLOps, and real-time/batch AI processing.
• Familiarity with modeling platforms and tools such as Jupyter, DataRobot, MLflow.

Work Environment

This role is hybrid, combining remote work with at least eight days per month in the office, as scheduled by your manager.
