Job description

Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Machine and Tool Program Analyst

with more than 20 years of experience to provide mechanical support in the fabrication and integration of various assemblies in support of several DoW systems.

Duties include:
  • Reading blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files
  • Securing, setting up and adjusting workpieces and cutting tools throughout shift to ensure precision and adhering to safety protocols and regulations
  • Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
  • Creating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine programs
  • Interpreting written instructions and specifications
  • Planning and laying out of work, using a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling
  • Monitoring the feed and speed of machines
  • Turning, milling, drilling, shaping, and grinding machine parts to specifications
  • Measuring, examining and testing completed products for defects and verifying they meet drawing requirements
  • Smoothing the surfaces of parts or products
  • Providing support to engineers working in a variety of areas
  • Machines proto-type parts for our government customer and making piece parts for certain contracts
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Set up and usage of machines for a safe and fully functional shop environment
  • Provides technical support to engineers working in a variety of areas
  • Conducts tests to collect design data
  • Machines proto-type parts for our government customer along with making piece parts for certain contracts
  • Create CNC machine programs
  • Operate Grinders, manual mill, lathes, and other small tools and shop equipment
  • Inspect components to verify they meet drawing requirements
Requires ability to:
  • Setup CNC set-up and operation experience
  • Set-up and perform complex machining operations using manual machine shop equipment including but not limited to lathes, milling machines, saws, and drill press
  • Use calibrated inspection equipment when monitoring the quality of the parts
  • Interpret and apply mechanical drawings
  • Background working with military systems and mechanical integration onto platforms is desired
  • Assists engineers and performs a variety of duties in the mechanical assembly, test and integration of assemblies
  • Assembles and tests complex systems
  • Analyzes and follows detailed mechanical assembly drawings for fabrication
  • Develop work instructions and assembly procedures
  • Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions
  • Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications
  • Identifies, recommends and advocates for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing
  • Interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential
  • Must abide by all safety and health policies and procedures

Office, Lab, and field environment. Normal workday for the contract is from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Central, Monday thru Friday. Support will be provided as needed during this time frame, but small efforts may be made at any time to support operations. Some travel may be required depending on project requirements.

This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
