Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. is seeking a Thermal Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, sizing, and development of thermal subsystems for Terran R.

You will build and validate analyses, support tool development, and collaborate with propulsion, manufacturing, and avionics teams to meet demanding launch conditions. You will guide design engineers in applying thermal sciences to achieve robust performance, development readiness, and flight viability, including test article integration and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Internships or university collaborations in industry.
• Strong fundamentals in heat transfer and thermal analysis.
• Hands-on experience with test planning, instrumentation and data analysis.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Drive the architecture, sizing, and development of thermal systems such as insulation, heaters, and environmental conditioning.
• Build, execute, and validate thermal analyses at component, sub-system, and vehicle levels; support tool development.
• Guide engineers in applying thermal science to meet system requirements.
• Develop and execute tests to support thermal systems development and qualification.
• Support vehicle/engine thermal system development, stage testing, and flight operations.
