Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse III to provide high-level nursing care at Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center. The role supports patients with complex medical and behavioral needs across morning, evening, and night shifts.

The position requires LVN licensure in Texas or reciprocal, CPR certification, and experience with electronic health records. Telework is not eligible; weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• LVN program completion required.
• Texas LVN licensure or reciprocal required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced vocational nursing work, providing care and treatment for individuals with complex medical needs.
• Performs routine and non-routine nursing tasks; collects specimens for lab work and conducts health screenings.
• Administers medications and treatments; conducts rounds, home visits, and complex nursing procedures.
• Monitors weight, diet, vitals, and health status; documents treatments in health records.
• Fosters collaboration, communicates with team, and collects data for RNs/PCPs.
• Trains LVNs and oversees competency; participates in training of new staff.
• Assists RNs with protocol implementation and infection control; supports quality improvement initiatives.
• Responds to emergencies; follows safety procedures and provides staff training.
• Performs other duties including disaster response and COOP activation.
