Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer to lead front-end technical coordination for LV power distribution projects, including UL 891 switchboards and UL 1558 switchgear. You will drive ETO engineering activities, review customer requirements, and ensure compliant, manufacturable designs across electrical and mechanical domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in LV power distribution, switchgear, or engineered electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of LV power distribution, electrical protection, control systems, and enclosure design.
• Knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, NEC and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead Front-End Coordination among Applications, Design, Manufacturing, Operations, Sourcing and Project Management.
• Lead and support ETO engineering for LV switchboards, switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Provide technical direction during quotation/phases and support design development.
• Review customer specs, one-line diagrams, and project docs for standards compliance.
• Support engineered-to-order (ETO) and standard platform opportunities across customer segments.
• Ensure designs align with UL 891, UL 1558, NEC and customer requirements.
• Develop and validate conceptual layouts, GA drawings, BOMs and control architectures.
• Drive handoff quality and readiness before Design Engineering release.
• Lead technical risk assessments related to manufacturability, compliance and schedule.
• Coordinate with sourcing on long lead items and component availability.
• Support customer technical review meetings and submittal packages.
• Contribute to engineering KPIs, BOM accuracy and documentation processes.
• Mentor pre-sales design resources and reduce downstream rework.
