Job summary

Heron Power Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Senior/Staff Electronics Design Engineer to architect and integrate the low voltage electrical system of high‑performance power converters.

You will define cabinet level architecture, manage harnessing, and ensure reliable power distribution across subsystems from concept through production. You should have 5+ years in LV design, cabinet‑level architecture, EMC and safety experience, familiarity with Altium, and hands‑on debugging and test in

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in low voltage electrical system design.
• Cabinet-level LV system architecture and component design experience.
• Experience with multi-voltage systems (12V/24V/48V) and harness design.
• Familiarity with EMC, grounding/shielding, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., Altium).
• Hands-on debugging, testing, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Own the full hardware development lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Define and implement the LV electrical architecture for cabinet-based systems.
• Select LV components (relays, fuses, terminal blocks) based on requirements.
• Create system block diagrams, schematics, and harness documentation.
• Ensure electrical interface integrity across PCBs, sensors, actuators, and buses.
• Collaborate with mechanical for enclosure layout and EMI/EMC grounding.
• Support prototype validation, DVT, and production bring-up.
• Ensure compliance with UL/IEC safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with firmware, test, and manufacturing teams for system behavior.
