Grand Hyatt at SFO seeks a polished, organized Event Planning Manager to join our Events team. You will plan, coordinate, and execute meetings, conferences, weddings, and corporate events, ensuring exceptional client experiences.

The role emphasizes maximizing group guestroom opportunities, strategic collaboration, and flawless event execution within a luxury setting adjacent to a major airport. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in hotel event planning, catering, or conference services in luxury markets.
• Experience managing corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, or complex events.
• Strong knowledge of banquet event orders, timelines, room setups, and event logistics.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple events and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Strong client relationship management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and hotel event systems; Envision, Opera, or Social Tables preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of assigned events from Sales turnover through completion, as primary client contact.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, planners, and stakeholders.
• Oversee group room blocks, lists, pickup, cut-off dates, VIP arrangements, and arrivals/departures.
• Identify opportunities to maximize event and guestroom revenue through upselling and services.
• Coordinate with Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, Revenue Management, AV and others.
• Own event specifications, BEOs, group resumes, timelines, and operation details.
• Proactively address challenges and lead service recovery to protect guest experience.
• Collaborate with Sales and Revenue Management to evaluate performance and future opportunities.
