Job summary

The State of Florida is seeking a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (SLPN) for the State Veterans’ Nursing Homes. Multiple positions/shifts are available; SLPNs on 2nd or 3rd shift will receive a $1.00/hr differential.

Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays.
• Valid State of Florida LPN licensure.
• Valid CPR certification.
• English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Background check and drug screen completed.
• One year of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Experience administering medications in a skilled facility.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality resident care ensuring health, safety, and security.
• Coordinate shift assignments and supervise staff.
• Assist with treatments, medication administration, and appointments.
• Document services and outcomes in facility software.
• Support interdisciplinary team and participate in staff development.
