Job summary

Heartland Business Systems is seeking a developing technical professional to install and implement video surveillance, access control, cabling, and related security solutions. You will work with a Foreman and Project Manager, growing independence while maintaining quality and customer focus.

You will travel to customer sites regularly, performing field tasks, testing, and documentation. The role emphasizes mentoring others and meeting billable goals in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience with Access Control, Surveillance, and/or Low Voltage Cabling systems and associated hardware/software.
• Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Strong prioritization and teamwork.
• Professional attitude and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support video surveillance, access control, structured cabling, and related physical security systems.
• Work with minimal supervision and within project requirements.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to complete field tasks accurately.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation and system issues.
• Coordinate with Foreman, Project Manager, customers, and onsite trades.
• Maintain safety and installation quality standards.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and validation of systems.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and associates.
