Job summary

Heartland Technology Group is seeking an entry-level technician to assist with the installation and implementation of video surveillance, access control, cabling, paging, and related low-voltage systems. You will work with the Foreman and Project Manager to build technical proficiency while delivering quality workmanship.

You will read drawings, follow installation instructions, troubleshoot basic issues, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use MS Office.
• Able to use basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Install and support video surveillance, access control, cabling, and related low-voltage systems under supervision.
• Read project drawings and installation instructions; follow safety and codes.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate complex problems.
• Coordinate with Foreman and Project Manager to support project execution.
• Document time, materials, and completed work accurately.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Develop technical knowledge and field installation skills.
• Frequent travel to customer sites required; travel may include daily local travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Meet annual billable hour goals as defined by company policies.
