Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in low voltage electrical work.
• Proven ability to install, terminate, and troubleshoot fiber optics, access control, and surveillance systems.
• Experience with Genetec and/or Avigilon preferred.
• NICET I or II in Fire Alarm or related discipline is a plus.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Valid and current driver’s license.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cable using OTDR and power meter testing equipment.
• Install and configure access control systems including door hardware, readers, panels, and power supplies.
• Install, aim, and program IP CCTV systems; Genetec/Avigilon experience preferred.
• Troubleshoot and repair low voltage cabling including Cat5e/6/6A and fiber.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, risers, schematics, and manuals.
• Travel to remote job sites with overnight stays as required.
• Interface with customers, project managers, and site personnel for clarity and satisfaction.
• Support training and development of apprentices and junior technicians.

The Senior Low Voltage Technicianis responsible for performing advanced low voltage installations, terminations,and troubleshooting for fiber optic systems, access control, surveillance, andstructured cabling. This traveling role covers job sites across Texas, the GulfCoast, and the southeastern U.S., requiring independence, leadership, and astrong technical background. This position also supports cross-functionalefforts and may lead or mentor junior technicians.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

• Fiber Optics: Terminate, splice (fusion), and test fiber optic cable using OTDR andpower meter testing equipment.
• Access Control: Install and configure systems including door hardware, readers, panels,and power supplies.
• Surveillance Systems: Install, aim, and program IP CCTV systems; experience with Genetec andAvigilon preferred.
• Structured Cabling: Troubleshoot and repair low voltage cabling systems, includingCat5e/6/6A and fiber.
• Documentation: Read and interpret construction drawings, risers, schematics, andtechnical manuals.
• Travel: Perform work on remote job sites requiring overnight stays.
• Communication: Interface with customers, project managers, and site personnel to ensurejob clarity and satisfaction.
• Mentorship: Support training and development of apprentices and junior technicians.
• Safety & Quality: Maintain a strong focus on job safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship.

Position Requirements

• Must be flexible to travel regularly throughout Texas, the Gulf Coast,and Southeast U.S.
• Must be able to work extended hours as required by the job schedule.
• Weekend work may be necessary based on business needs.
• Regular attendance is essential to this position

Physical & CognitiveRequirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces or overheadconditions.
• Operate power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding at varying heights.
• Visual acuity and color recognition required for fiber and wiring work.
• Ability to transition from parking areas to construction zones usingOSHA-approved means.

• Familiarity with hand and power tools, test equipment, and mechanicallifts.
