Job summary

FalconX is seeking a Senior Trading Systems Developer in New York City to architect and build our low-latency electronic trading execution platform. You will work on core components on the hot path of the execution stack, including market-data ingestion, OMS/EMS, risk checks, and venue connectivity.

You will design scalable services in Rust and Java, integrate with exchange APIs via FIX/REST/WebSocket, and collaborate with quant, trading, infra and data teams in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in trading systems (ownership preferred).
• Strong background in Rust and/or Java (11+) with performance profiling, concurrency, or memory-safe design.
• Experience building EMS/OMS with microsecond latency.
• Deep understanding of order state machines and execution workflows.
• Experience with high-throughput messaging frameworks like Aeron.
• Hands-on integration with FIX, REST, and WebSocket APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

Responsibilities

• Build scalable services using Rust and Java optimized for latency and throughput.
• Develop low latency EMS/OMS components and market-data pipelines on Aeron.
• Integrate with exchange APIs using FIX, REST, WebSocket.
• Model complex order lifecycles and execution workflows.
• Design and maintain high-throughput messaging schemas (SBE) and communication.
• Own full SDLC for your domain from design to monitoring.
• Collaborate with quant, trading, infra, and data teams.
• Participate in Agile planning and execution cadence.
