Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in vessel and terminal operations; hold work and cargo securing experience.
• Advanced training in equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Proven ability to lead teams and follow complex operational plans.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Hooking and unhooking cargoes in vessel holds.
• Operating powered industrial trucks (PITs) for cargo stowage.
• Using chainsaws and chop saws for cargo preparation and securing.
• Securing cargo with lashings and carpentry techniques; safely removing lashings.
• Signal crane operators to coordinate safe and efficient cargo movement.
• Follow vessel loading and discharge plans with precision.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and initiative.
• Assist Gang Foreman and act as right-hand in crew coordination.
• Lead the gang in the absence of the Gang Foreman.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and address hazards.
