Job summary

Gulf Stream Marine in Houston is seeking an experienced Longshoreman III to support terminal and stevedoring operations. You will monitor cargo movements across vessel, warehouse, and trucking, verify handling and documentation, and help ensure safe, efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in vessel holds and advanced cargo handling.
• Specialized PIT operation and cargo securing training.
• Proficiency with forklifts, yard mules, chain saws and chop saws.
• Strong understanding of cargo stowage principles and safety standards.
• Capable of working independently or leading small teams.

Responsibilities

• Hook cargoes in the hold for unloading and unhooking during loading onto the vessel.
• Understand cargo stowage, dunnage & securing requirements.
• Operate PIT’s for stowing cargo on the vessel - Small Forklift or Yard Mule.
• Operate with chain & chop saws.
• Secure cargo with lashings and carpentry and safely remove lashings/securements.
• Visually inspect the lifting gear.
• Maintain a clean work area.
