Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Sr Long Term Disability Claims Specialist to advance our Work Force Benefits division. You will manage complex LTD claims, partner with clinical and vocational teams, and help refine processes and compliance across the enterprise.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years LTD experience, superior communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while mentoring others. Base pay and benefits reflect a supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Long Term Disability claims experience.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload with limited oversight.
• Ability to interpret and apply policy provisions, contractual language, and regulatory requirements accurately.
• Advanced knowledge of ERISA and related federal/state requirements.
• Knowledge of Pacific Life’s Workforce Benefits platforms and claims systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse and often complex caseload of LTD claims from intake through resolution, ensuring timely, fair, and accurate decisions.
• Collaborate with clinical and vocational partners to develop RTW strategies and determine benefit eligibility.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on LTD claim practices and contribute to internal procedures and workflows.
• Maintain detailed documentation of decisions and communicate with claimants, employers, and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor and onboard new team members and share expertise within the team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Intake/Admin, Clinical and Vocational Services.
