Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide routine operational support to all fire stations, headquarters, communications, and other County departments as directed. Employees in this classification function at a journeyman level and are accountable for the accuracy of both routine and non-routine logistical needs such as: stations pickups, deliveries of equipment and supplies, restocking warehouse supplies, running rehab fluids, and any other job specific projects assigned by the Logistics Manager or as dictated by the nature of department. Position may be assigned to a large operating unit and perform a broad array of routine support functions, or assignment may be to a smaller specialized unit wherein incumbents perform specialized duties in supporting department objectives. This position is responsible for the operation of the Logistics Warehouse and the supervision of staff in the absence of the Logistics Manager.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in a warehouse/logistics related position including demonstrated familiarity with warehousing practices and methods, or equivalent experience performing fire station–level logistics oversight, including responsibility for equipment accountability, inventory management, ordering and procurement of supplies, vendor coordination, and day-to-day logistical support of station operations.
Miscellaneous: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Florida Class A CDL with N endorsement within one (1) year of employment.

At no cost to the employee. The County offers Short-Term and Long-Term Disability at 60% of the employee’s weekly base salary. The employee has the option to purchase an additional 10% coverage.

40 hours of Administrative Leave per fiscal year for Exempt employees.
