Description

SAIC is looking a Senior Logistics Management Specialist to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

NOTE: Candidate will be required to attend meetings at the Crane location approximately once a month.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Product Support Logistician, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient support of defense systems throughout their lifecycle. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing logistics activities such as supply chain management, maintenance, transportation, and warehousing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and DoD clients to achieve optimal product support and operational readiness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lifecycle Support: Plan, develop, and manage logistics support for defense systems across their lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution, to ensure timely and efficient support.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and availability of defense systems.
  • Transportation and Warehousing: Coordinate transportation and warehousing operations to ensure the safe and secure movement and storage of defense equipment and materials.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate logistics risks to ensure continuous support and operational readiness.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, DoD clients, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of logistics activities with operational requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive logistics documentation, including support plans, procedures, and reports.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related roles, preferably within the defense industry. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Understanding of DoD logistics policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Interim clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
  • US Citizenship.
