Job summary

Cal-Am Properties Inc is seeking a Loan Accounting Manager to oversee accounting, reporting, and administration for Cal-Am's loan portfolio. The role collaborates with accounting, sales, legal and operations and supervises staff supporting loan accounting.

The position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 annually with benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation and sick leave, and 401K. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with hybrid eligibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience including 2 years of supervisory experience required.
Experience with loan collections and related legal processes is preferred.
Experience with The Mortgage Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain mortgage records including loan terms, payment schedules, interest rates, maturities, and escrows.
Review principal/interest activity, escrow activity, reserve activity, and other debt-related transactions to the GL.
Prepare and review monthly bank and loan reconciliations and related journal entries.
Review reconciliations of loan balances and activity to mortgage software and GL; resolve variances.
Prepare and review monthly loan reporting packages for leadership and owners.
Support monthly cash forecasting with expected funding/payoff requirements.
Oversee collection and legal process for delinquent/defaulted loans through final resolution.
Coordinate with outside counsel, borrowers, and management to ensure timely resolution.
Monitor status of loans in legal proceedings and maintain key dates/fees/ recoveries.
