Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive commodity accounting experience in energy.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience in a global physical and financial commodities trading organization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting and reporting for LNG, natural gas, crude oil and NGL trading activities (physical and financial).
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for commodity accounting.
• Ensure accurate accounting treatment for physical and financial transactions.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Read and interpret complex contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment for non-standard deals.
• Assess embedded derivatives and NPNS elections under U.S. GAAP.
• Support contract evaluation in drafting phase and guide optimal accounting outcomes.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Risk, and Commercial teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor intercompany billings and balances; ensure accurate reporting.
• Maintain SOX/compliance and support audits and controls.
