Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
• 2–3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license; CPR certification.
• Physical stamina to lift, transfer, and assist residents.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with residents in person and over the phone.
• Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading printed information and computer screens.

Responsibilities

• Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
• Builds rapport with residents and collaborates with the care team.
• Documents resident care services per approved procedures.
• Administers and guides therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Instructs residents on regimens and promotes wellness and health maintenance.
• Supports use of devices like crutches, canes, and prostheses.
