Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking an Associate Executive Director in Cary, NC, to support the Executive Director in coordinating all community operations for seniors across independent living, assisted living, and memory care. You will lead staff, manage budgets, and ensure exceptional resident services.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of managerial experience in senior housing or healthcare, and a passion for seniors’ well-being. Some evenings and weekends may be needed as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years management and/or supervisory experience, preferred in senior housing or other relevant leadership experience within healthcare, long term care, or with the elderly population.
• Demonstrate passion for leading and developing associates and promoting excellent service delivery to seniors.
• Must possess sound judgment, problem solving, and decision making abilities.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to a wide range of audiences including family members, government agencies, general public, etc.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Must have good organizational and time management skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prefer a candidate who holds a certification as an assisted living administrator or be willing to attain the certification within 1 year of hire or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing the essential functions of the community with a strong emphasis on customer service and leadership across multiple departments to ensure high standards of service delivery.
• Work with the Executive Director to ensure community cohesiveness and achievement of objectives.
• Recruitment, hiring, coaching, and counseling of associates; supervise Department Heads and teams.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and maintain budget compliance within areas of responsibility.
• Lead by example; promote teamwork and cooperation among departments.
• Address and resolve concerns with residents, families, and authorized representatives.
• Participate in staff and leadership meetings and community events.
• Assist with sales and marketing activities for the community.
