Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school equivalency education and be licensed as a CNA in Rhode Island.

• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, and document oral medications per physician order and facility policies.
• Monitor medications and maintain accountability during counts and shift changes.
• Label medications correctly and chart administration as required.
• Verify resident identity before giving meds and document refusals or deviations.
• Record vital signs and ensure meds are ingested or applied as directed.
• Follow storage and safety policies for drugs and biologicals.
• Provide compassionate, confidential care respecting resident dignity at all times.
• Assist with daily living activities and meal service as needed.
• Report equipment or supply issues to the Director of Nursing.
