Job summary

Northern Nevada State Veterans Home in Sparks, NV is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our senior living community safe, functional, and in tip-top shape. You’ll perform routine repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general upkeep, and complete work orders promptly.

This hands-on role requires diagnosing problems, working independently, coordinating with teams, and lifting up to 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license and basic trade certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience required; senior living or healthcare environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Ability to diagnose problems, think critically, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the community—including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general upkeep.
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks to ensure everything is working safely and efficiently.
