Job summary

The manager plans, organizes, develops, and directs the Maintenance Department to ensure a safe, compliant, and comfortable community, coordinating with other departments and supervising vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory maintenance/plant-related experience.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain maintenance schedules and write policies and procedures.
• Direct the Maintenance Department, programs, and activities.
• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments.
• Supervise safety and fire protection programs; enforce safety rules.
• Inspect storage rooms and workspaces for upkeep and supply control.
• Review surveys and develop plans of correction for deficiencies.
• Ensure external vendors work per contracts and orders.
• Attend meetings with maintenance staff to improve services.
