Job summary

Harbor’s Edge in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to deliver therapeutic recreational activities for residents across Health Services units, including memory support and assisted living. You will help maintain wellness through a balanced program of social, educational, fitness, and creative activities.

The role requires at least two years in elder care, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with elderly individuals, particularly with dementia.
• Preferred: Certified Activity Professional or CNA credentials.
• Current certification in Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills; follow instructions.
• Ability to interact with elderly respectfully and patiently.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of therapeutic recreational activities for Health Services residents, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain accurate progress notes in resident charts; review status with Life Enrichment Supervisors.
• Coordinate event scheduling and facility use with team members; post activity calendars.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of resident activities and events.
• Participate in individualized care plan meetings as assigned.
• Assist residents in coordinating and attending offsite activities as directed.
