Job summary

Walnut Grove Care & Rehab Center is seeking a part-time Laundry Assistant to operate washers/dryers, sort and handle articles, and maintain sanitation standards. The role emphasizes safety, timely performance, and adherence to infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally with staff, residents, families, and customers.
• Stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must read and understand equipment operation manuals.

Responsibilities

• Load articles into washer and dryer.
• Soak contaminated articles as per policy.
• Sort dried articles by type and identifier; place in bins.
• Lubricate machines; mend torn articles.
• Fold and count items; ensure quantities match laundry lists.
• Read manuals for equipment operation.
• Follow infection control procedures.
• Support safety and quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
