Job summary

Allegria Village in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Kitchen Utility Worker to support the Dietary Services team in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen for both assisted living and skilled nursing dining operations. The role involves dishwashing, sanitation, stocking, basic food prep support, and assisting cooks and dietary staff as needed.

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with previous kitchen or healthcare experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous kitchen, food service, restaurant, hospitality, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation and food safety practices is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a kitchen.
• Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, trays, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, sinks, and other areas.
• Keep the dishwashing area clean and organized.
• Assist with stocking and organizing pantry and storage areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Rotate food and inventory to minimize waste and ensure proper storage.
