Job summary

Allegria Village is seeking a Part Time Kitchen Utility Worker to support its Dietary Services team in Dearborn, MI. The role focuses on keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and organized to support assisted living and skilled nursing operations.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking, and able to assist with dishwashing, basic food preparation, and meal service under the direction of the Director of Dietary Services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous kitchen food service, restaurant, hospitality or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation and food safety practices is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in kitchen operations.
• Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and equipment as required.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work cooperatively with cooks, servers, dietary aides and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, trays, and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, sinks, and other areas.
• Keep the dishwashing area clean and organized.
• Assist with stocking and organizing pantry and storage areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Rotate food and inventory to minimize waste.
• Check dates and proper storage of food products.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and putting away supplies.
• Assist with meal service and delivery as directed.
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures at all times.

We are seeking a Kitchen Utility Worker to join our Dietary Services team and help maintain a clean safe and efficient kitchen environment for our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing dining operations.

Position Summary

The Kitchen Utility Worker is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Dietary Services department by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas. This position assists with dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, food service support, and other kitchen duties as needed.

The ideal candidate is dependable hardworking and takes pride in maintaining a clean organized and sanitary environment.

What Youll Do

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, trays, and other kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, sinks, and other assigned areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area.
• Properly handle and store clean dishes and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stocking and organizing the pantry and kitchen storage areas.
• Monitor pantry and kitchen inventory levels and communicate when supplies need to be replenished.
• Rotate food and kitchen inventory according to established procedures to ensure proper product utilization and minimize waste.
• Check dates and condition of food products and maintain proper storage practices.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and putting away food and kitchen supplies.
• Maintain organized and properly labeled storage areas.
• Assist with taking out trash and maintaining appropriate waste disposal procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and clean kitchen and service areas as assigned.
• Assist cooks and dietary staff with basic food preparation and kitchen tasks as needed.
• Assist with meal service and delivery of food items as directed.
• Monitor kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness and readiness.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding food service and sanitation.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to established procedures.
• Assist with special events and other Dietary Services activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Dietary Services.
