Job summary

Maplewood Senior Living in Brewster, MA is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare and serve meals for the dietary department in accordance with dietary standards and Maplewood’s philosophy. The role requires delivering appetizing meals within scheduled times and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen.

The position requires Serve Safe Certification, knowledge of health and safety rules, ability to work with seniors, and the capacity to manage large quantities and supervise in the director's absence.

Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification is required to work in food service.
• Familiar with health and safety rules in food prep.
• Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures per state guidelines.
• Understanding of meat cuts and seasonings.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assists or prepares food items and serves to residents within scheduled times.
• Cleans and maintains kitchen and dining areas.
• Assists Culinary Services Director with inventory control.
• Supervises servers in the absence of the Culinary Service Director.
• Ensures diets are followed and meals are accounted for daily.
