Job summary

Qualifications

• Serv Safe certificate required or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Candidate should be patient, tactful, enthusiastic and respectful toward the elderly.
• Good physical and mental health; neat, clean and responsible.
• Must have upper body strength to bend, lift, shift and move items over 25 pounds.
• Must be able to squat, reach and stretch and tolerate long periods of standing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and health standards.
• Adhere to portion control standards for nutrition.
• Follow policies for safe food handling and storage.
• Maintain sanitation, safety and infection control in all duties.
• Clean and organize work area; maintain personal hygiene.
• Monitor food supply and report issues; inform manager of hazards.
• Dispose of waste per policy; use protective clothing when needed.
• Maintain and file menus; complete required forms for dietary manager.
• Attend orientation, training and department meetings; participate in CQI activities.
