Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for residents, following approved menus and dietary needs. You will supervise dietary staff in the absence of leadership, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and ensure temperatures and storage practices meet safety standards.

This role requires Serv-Safe certification (or commitment to obtain within 60 days), experience in dining services, and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have dining services experience.
• Serv-Safe certification required or willing to complete within 60 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of food service operations and duties of other dietary positions.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations.
• Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes, considering residents' dietary needs.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director.
• Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen and work area.
• Report equipment issues and ensure proper food temperatures are checked daily.
• Assist in training new dietary employees and conduct in-services.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
